Renaissance Lute Duets. Saturday August 1, 2015

Bancroft Street Market welcome Kenneth Be’ and Alan Williams for a lute duet performance on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.

The gently-plucked lute was the prime solo instrument during the Renaissance, being able to handle melodic lines, chords, and also multiple polyphonic lines.  When two lutes play as a duet combination, the musical sound possibilities are greater and more impressive.  This evening’s program will include a sampling of 16th century duets for lutes at different pitches and from several countries of the European Continent, as well as England.  Local musician Kenneth Bé will be joined by Alan Williams from Kansas City.

It will be about 50 minutes long.

Admission: $5
