Bancroft to Bayliss Bicycle Loop

If you are looking for a fun, urban, group bicycle ride, the Bancroft to Bayliss Bicycle Loop is for you.  The ride, an urban no drop ride, starts at Bancroft Street Market and proceeds north on 10th Street through the Old Market in Downtown Omaha and through Riverfront Park.  It crosses into Iowa via the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge.  The ride proceeds east on the First Ave trail in Council Bluffs.  The turn around point is Bayliss Park in Downtown Council Bluffs.  The ride returns  to Bancroft Street Market via the same route .

Along the way, an experienced leader narrates, explaining points of current and historical interest.

In addition to an exercise goal another aim of the ride is to enhance the bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure between the Omaha/ Council Bluffs Riverfront, downtown Omaha, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Lauritzen Botanical Garden. 10th Street, with it’s sidewalks serves as an important connector

The round trip ride is 14 miles and takes about 2 1/2 hours, depending on participants and the number of stops.
